Day 5

All is well here! I think Tess is getting a bit bored..... but she is eating well and takes care GREAT care of her puppies! Tess keeps her puppies sooo clean they have to be the cleanest puppies ever!

Ina is VERY interested is what's in the puppy room! This is the first litter I have had since she was born almost 3 years ago. Bet she will be a good "auntie" when they get older!

Tess seems to be looking for a new place for her puppies. When I take her out for a walk she looks under the deck, under the boats... one thing we don't want her to do! Mom's seem to want to move puppies it's just mother nature telling them to move after a few days in the same place. But she will get over moving the kids in a few days.

No new photo this AM as they are much the same as yesterday! Just wait until they start to open their eyes!!!!! Then you will see a change just about every day! That's when they start getting spots too, so keep checking in to watch them as they grow and change.

Here is a photo of Tess at 6 weeks.

Day 3

Much the same as day 2, but no visit to the Vet!! Not much to tell today… but the dryer calls so I’ll sign off.

And the "Box" photo for day 3.

Day 2

The puppies had their dewclaws removed today. All did well, the Vet put in stitches this time rather than glue… not so good as many of the stitches came out on the first day… Maybe stitches and glue next time.

Tess is doing well and is not quite as worried when she leaves to potty. But for sure gets back to her babies as fast as she can!!!

I have a rotten cold, maybe lack of sleep??? Oh well, I’ll sleep this weekend!

I’m going to do a “box” photo each day (ya right..) but I will try! I think it is interesting just how much they grow and how they fill the box more and more each day.

PUPPIES!!!

Tess had her puppies on Jan 31, 2010, Sunday. I was away in California working... so Mom & Pam were there to help.

From the reports Tess was great. I got home after midnight and Tess was all settled in with her puppies. She is such a calm Mom but Mom's with their second litter often are.

We have 1 black girl, 1 liver girl, 1 liver patch girl and 2 black patch boys, one of which has 3 patches! That's a new one for me! Every one seems strong and doing very well.

I'll try to post daily except when I'm away...

Puppies are amazing :) Good girl Tess!!

Tess & Argus puppies on the way!

We have puppies due January 30th 2010! I had an ultrasound done on Tess and they saw 5-6 puppies. It is very hard to count with an ultra sound so there could be more, but for sure there are puppies in there!

The sire of the puppies is Ch. Paisley NSpired by Broadway, "Argus". A very handsome liver spotted boy who is the Champion of Health for January on the OFA web site. Congrats Argus!

Both Tess and Argus are the sweetest of Dals with wonderful temperaments. Both are smart and very willing to please. The only problem with smart Dals is their owners have to be at least as smart!

I'll post more info as I get it or think of something....

4 weeks old - Black patch female

The patch female thought stacking was a ton of fun! She really likes cream cheese. We should have let her go first to teach the other pups how to do it!
